Review: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (The Hunger Games Trilogy #3)

Katniss has survived the Hunger Games - twice. She has always broken the law to keep her family safe - but she may not be able to help them now. After Katniss is taken from the arena, she is told the terrible truth - District 12 is no more. While her family and Gale are, for now, safe, Peeta was captured by the Capitol. And a revolution is under way.

Katniss is taken the the secretly surviving District 13, where she is asked to be the Mockingjay, the face of the rebellion. After agreeing, she is plunged once more into the world she tried to escape, with the cameras once again following her every move. In District 13, not everything is exactly what it may seem, and her safe haven may not be as stable as it looks. Who is really on her side? Katniss wants justice, badly. How how far is she willing to go? How much is she ready to sacrifice?

Oh. My. God. I'm still a bit shell-shocked from this. After I finished, I swear I just sat there for like and hour trying to absorb everything that happened. This was an amazing way to finish the series. The things we learn about the characters and the crazy action and plot twists blew me away and the ending, although satisfying, still left me with a huge book hangover. It was just... wow. Even though a large part of the book was combat, there was still plenty of smoke and mirrors about characters' true agendas, which I loved. This is an amazing finish and a must-read! 5/5 stars!!
