Twilight is about a high school girl, Bella Swan, who is living with her father, the police chief. in Forks, Washington. At her new school, she notices six students who are out of place - isolated, quiet, and beautiful. Thsuspicions, se are the cullens, the adopted children of the surgeon Dr. Cullen and his wife. Bella develops and attraction almost immedietly to Edward, one of the boys. However he seems to dislike her - even hate her. After Edward does several bewildering things that he tries to dismiss, Bella begins to suspect that there is something not entirely normal about him - or any of the Cullens, for that matter. After learning a chilling local legend about the Cullens from her friend, Jacob Black, Bella is forced to accept that her crush may not be completly human. After confronting Edward about her suspicions, she learns that, as she feared, the Cullens are in fact vampires. This does nothing to lessen her affection for Edward, and vice versa.

Ah, yes. The infamous Twilght Saga. First, the love interest does not seem well thought out. Over the course of about a week, Edward goes from hating Bella to loving her. What's with that? It doesn't make much sense. And Bella and Edward don't have much in common. Sure, they both have the same CD, but that's one thing. And is Bella at all bothered by the age difference between them that Edward is over a hundred years old? Apperently not. And what's the point of the book? I mean, nobody going on a quest or adventure or mission. I get that it's a love story, but I would expect a better story line from such a well-known book. Sure, it has it's touching, warm fuzzy moments. And I enjoyed the human loves vamp idea, although it's not original. And the characters have depth and personality. And speaking of love - where's the famous love triangle? Or does that come in latter in the series? I'll give this book 2.5/5 stars. and that's being generous.

For those of you looking for more, the books were also turned into movies.
