In this masterpiece of YA, we continue Bella's story about the worst vamipe imaginable. After an rather unpleasant birthday party, the Cullens leave Forks, and Edward tries his best to wipe all evidence of himself from Bella's life. He wants to give her her a normal life, since he's convinced what they have will never go anywhere. Heartbroken, Bella sits around feeling sorry for herself and doing nothing, just like any reasonable person would do. But there may hope for her recovery when she spends more time with Jacob Black, her childhood friend. With Jacob's help, she begins to come back, enjoying life a bit more.

However, Jacob is hiding something, and she quickly learns that all is not right in her little town. The vamps aren't the only supernatural nasties in town, and Bella may quickly become trapped in the middle of an ancient feud.

If I had to pick my favorite book in the series, it would be this one. Don't get me wrong - they're all terrible. But at least Edward isn't in 89% of the story, which is a delightful perk. However, the books nevertheless continue to drive me insane. (Well, more insane than I already am. xD.) The plot is all over the place and Bella is rather insulting. Not only is she incredibly sexist, proving over and over again that she can't do anything without a boy's help, her stupidity is painful. The characters have zero personality and the new characters we meet are just plot fluffers who have zero reason to really be in the book. 2/5 stars.
