Hush, Hush takes place in present day Coldwater, Maine. The main character, Nora Grey, is an average, small-town girl. Or she was, until she met her new lab partner. Enter Patch Cipriano. Sarcastic, dangerous, and completly gorgeous. He also know way more about Nora than he should, which unnerves her. Despite what she wants to believe, she is almost immedietly attracted to Patch. However, something is not quite right about him and, although he denies her accusations, she is determined to figure him out, with help from her best friend Vee Sky.

She learns that Patch is a fallen angel, and, to her horror, that he also wants to kill her. Hurt and betrayed, she confronts him about his plans, only to learn that he can't bring himself to kill her. But somebody, although not Patch, does want Nora dead, and if she doesn't find out who quickly, she's in big trouble.

After reading this book, my heart broke a little, and not in a good way. First of all, the cover sucks. I mean, honestly. This is not something I would want to be seen reading in public when it has a cover like that. And the name? What does "Hush Hush" have to do with anything in the book?! Nobody ever even says that, at least. Nora is immature and whinny, and her trust issues drove me insane. Vee is way to over the top and totally unbelieveable. And Patch? Sure, he's super hot, and bad boys are attractive. But one moment he wants to kill Nora, and the next moment he loves her?! What's up with that? The book was also really predictable. I bet the author thought she was being super clever when she unveiled the true villian of the story, but really, everyone saw it coming from a mile away. And I have to deduct points for the fallen angels falling in love with humans theme. It's not original.

But, there was some well-appreciated humor in the story, and at least there were no vampires or werewolves. Only really a good book if you're looking for a guilty pleasure read. I really can't think of many good things to say about the book. Three out of five stars.

I hope the second book is better.
