Tris and Tobias, as well as their friends, are ready to leave the city and start a new life away from the factions. But what they find beyond the city walls isn't what they expect. Humanity is in shambles, and Tris is needed to help rebuild a shattered world. Another shocking truth may drive a wedge between Tris and Tobias, and the two may find themselves on opposite sides of a battlefield. Tris must also try to forgive her brother, Caleb, and accept the sacrifice she may have to make for a better world.
I was so excited to read this book! While it wasn't as boring as Insurgent, I soon was let down. There wasn't anything wrong with the plot, but it seemed to drag at times. While the characters developed well, I soon became frustrated with their unclear alliances and how their actions and beliefs seems to go against each other. The ending was very unsatisfying and rushed, leaving many of my questions unanswered. It's safe to say I was unimpressed, even mildly disgusted, with the book. Veronica gave the series such great potential but, nce again, didn't quite deliver in this final installment. 3/5 stars. What a waste.
