HAHAYAS! No more! God, you have no idea how happy I am that I can finally put this whole mess behind me. After this, I will never have to look at another copy of this crap again. :) So let's get started, shall we?
Nora is now the leader of her father's rebel army, which we all know is going to lose this war, and it's safe to say it's causing her quite a bit of grief. (Which she deserves. She's awful.) She's not allowed to be seen in public with Patch, and she must keep her family and best friend, Vee, out of the crosshairs of any fallen angels who may be targeting her. It's also becoming increasingly difficult to keep her secrets from Vee, who is starting to get that something is seriously wrong with her bestie.
Nora doesn't want to fight the fallen angels, but she may have no choice, as the nephilim are out for blood. Furthermore, she's also being hunted by some annoyingly persistent fallen angels and must deal with Marcie, who's know actually moved in with Nora and - side note - has no idea that Nora killed their father. Nora is also dabbling with devilcraft, even Patch, and it's going to have some nasty side effects if she doesn't stop. And - because why not, right? - Nora's still totally insecure about out old buddy, Dabria. It's kinda sad.
Nora needs to find a way to keep everyone she loves safe and end a war, even if that means destroying an entire species.
While not as awful as I was expecting, it wasn't particularly impressive, unless you compare it to some of Becca's other books. We don't see much character development, and Nora continued to drive me insane with her stupidity and insecurity. We also met a new character - Pepper - who disgusted me with his lack of depth and ticked me off because he only exists for the convenience of the plot. And the final battle scene? Considering the book was leading off to an "epic face-off" I was disappointed. I was expecting way more major character deaths and sacrifice. I felt like there should have been much more loss. However, there were some interesting plot twists and the ending wrapped up things okay. I can see how someone could enjoy this. 3/5 stars.
