The worlds of chimeara and angels are about to be at war. Karou, with the help of the kirin Ziri, has managed to deceive their people, and now they follow, unknowingly, Karou's and Ziri's commands. But all they need is one little slip-up about "Thiago's" true identity (and what happened to the real Thiago) and everything will come crashing down with no hope of victory.
On the other hand, there is Akiva and Liraz. The siblings have rallied their misbegotten brethren to fight against their emperor. The catch? They will have to work with their sworn enemies to do so. Akiva is desperate to get Karou back, but he cannot know why she spends so much time with the person who killed her. Liraz hungers for justice and revenge, haunted by Hazael's murder.
As the two sides, under Karou and Akiva's command, try to work together, tensions run high. Understandably, neither side is keen to work with the people who have been slaughtering their friends and family for years. But they must unite under their common enemy if they want any justice.
To make matters worse, the angel emperor has come to Earth, playing on the humans' dreams and beliefs about his kind. He thinks that the humans can give him the weapons and support he needs to not only wipe out the chimeara, but also to crush any unrest n his empire. And another power, unknown to all but a few, is brewing as the sky bruises and stirs. The survival of everyone is at stake, and there's nothing anyone seems to want to do abut it.
Personaly, I think that Days of Blood & Starlight is the best book in the series, but this was an amazing finale. We get new characters and the answers to some questions that have been killing us. The series continues with it's questions and thoughtful themes on war, and all the different plot lines and characters weave together flawlessly. Part were a tiny bit slow, but overall the pace of the book was good and the ending, though not quite what I was expecting, was great! 4/5 stars! I think I speak for everyone when I say I'll be sad to see these guys go.
