I LOVE bookstores. Seeing all those book that you haven't read yet alongside the one you have is so exciting! And when a person comes up and picks up your ablsoute favorite book and you can be all like, "Oh, hey! I love that one!" And when you find a fellow book nerd, chatting with them about obscene book-related stuff is so much FUN!

And book covers! Whoever said that you should never judge a book by it's cover is a huge optimist. Or a fool. Probably both. I love judging books by their covers. You actully can judge a book by it's cover most of the time, or at least tell quite a lot about it.

So, picture this:

You've just entered the bookstore and you're looking at the new teen books. You're admiring the covers, (Especially the shinny ones, you adore those.) running you hands lightly over the spines and wondering if it's time to try something new. This sort of enviorment could even tempt you to read something like this:

I know, I know. But bear with me.The cover isn't so bad - interesting design, good use of space, bold and striking colors. You can see how someone might want to read this. But then the movie comes out and this happens:

"What is this vile monstrosity?!" You cry, clutching your chest in physical agony. "This... thing? What are these pale, photoshopped teens doing on this book cover? Why is there an odd-looking creature holding a girl?"

No book deserves this. And how are we going to imagine what things look like for themselves if some casting director (with terrible taste) decides for us? Do people have any respect for books these days? Apperently not if they're in the film industry. And sometimes they ruin a beautiful book cover:

It makes your heart break a little, you know?

Book covers are an art. It will never be acceptable to do this.
