Darkling Complains: Undeserving Books

Have you ever read a terrible book? One that you would never reccommend? (Except maybe to your worst enemies?) A book that makes you sick to look at? Of course you have. Or you will soon. I've read more than my fair share of terrible books. And here's the thing: I'm a resonable, easy-going darkling. It takes a lot to tick e off, let alone make me really angry. But the one thing that never fails to get to me are really popular books that in no way deserve the praise they get from readers. Books like Twilight or Hush, Hush that are very poular or even famous, and yet are total monstrosities. And when I have to listen to people praising those... things, it's all I can do to not be sick.
Maybe people like it because it's a trashy romance book, or a book with way to much blood and guts. We all have our guilty pleasure books, I get that. But they don't have to be... I mean, these kinds of books aren't even worthy of being called books.
But of all the reasons of why you might like a terrible popular book, there's one in particular I hate: Hot guys. I know it sounds kind of stupid, but bare with me. The number one way for authors to get girls hooked on their books/fangirls for the series is to put a bunch of hot guys in it. And I can appriciate that, but I want a good read, and reading about some terrible dialouge and banter going on between feuding.. I don't know, let's say wizards... is boring, not matter what pointless thing they're talking about. They could be the hottest wizards in the world, and if it's steamy enough, 95% of the book's female readers would adore it. I, of course, would be unimpressed.
This isn't fair to good authors, and it's frustrating for people who want a good book.
