In this dark, post-apocalyptic world, water is more valuable than gold. Sixteen year-old Lynn and her mother are prepared to defend their little pond with their last breath. If you don't have water you can drink, you're already dead. The pair has provided for themselves all their lives, but now things are changing quickly. After a terrible accident resulting in the death of Lynn's mother, she must fend for herself. However, she must also deal with a group of inexperienced refugees from a nearby city who have set up camp near her home and a group of survivors who are monopolizing all the water in the area.

For reasons not even she really understands, Lynn helps a pair of orphaned refugees, Eli, and his younger sister, Lucy. Lynn takes them in and tries to teach them the basics of surviving, although it my prove hopeless for city-born survivors. In the meantime, she must deal with the truth about her father and how to keep herself safe from bands of surviving hunters.

I love how, event hough Lynn is so tough and strong, she still has a soft spot that we get to see sometimes. And even though her mother is a bit rough around the edges, she's a good person at heart and only wants what's best for her daughter.

Not a Drop to Drink was original and thrilling. Lynn is a great heroine - brave, smart, and totally badass. I love how she has a soft spot for people, even though she's always been taught not to care about others. The plot and story line was riviting. If anything, I though the love interests in the story were weak and the ending wasn't completly satisfying. Overall, I'd give it 3.99/5 stars.
