Life for Alice Bell is normal. Well, as normal as it could be, seeing that she's a zombie hunter. After a attack, Ali starts hearing voices, and her mirror's reflection starts talking to her. Understandably, she is terrified. She also begins to become violent and aggressive towards her friends and begins to exhibit a craving for blood and destruction - all traits common to zombies. Her new boyfriend, Cole Holland, also begins to withdraw from her life, a fact that, understandably, destresses Ali. We are also introduced to a new slayer, Galvin, and all I can say us that he is a moderatley disgusting person.
So, Galvin. He's really just sort of a player, always has another hooker with him, that sort of thing. He's arrogant and entitled, and not in an endearing way. Kat continues to be such a great friend to Ali. Ali's humor is a bit dampened from her fear of what's happening to her, though. Doesn't make her any less awesome!
This was an exellent follow-up. We see a lot of good character development, and the story is entertaining and engaging. Galvin, although not pleasant, is an interesting character and there are plenty of good moments in the book. Trust me - you're going to hate 'em, love 'em, and everything in between. I loved all the feels. I've just finished the third and final book, so I'll be doing that one shortly. 4/5 stars.
