Nick and Amy are a couple who's relationship has been falling apart. Despite having been married for five years, they can't seem to work out their differences. Nick needs everything to be perfect, and he refuses to be the bad guy. Amy never laughs anymore, and she refuses to admit that some of their problems might be her fault.

Every year on their wedding anniversary, Amy makes a treasure hunt for Nick to follow. If he gets the clues right, he can follow them until he finds his anniversary gift at the end of the rainbow. On their fifth wedding anniversary, Amy suddenly vanishes and Nick is the prime suspect. The police find plenty of evidence that Nick murdered his sweet wife, and he'll be hard-pressed to prove himself innocent. Nick didn't kill Amy, so who did? And if Amy's not dead, where is she?

Okay, so it's not strictly YA. Even so, I have a good friend who read it and loved the book. She was raving about it, and I figured, why not, right? What's the worst that could happen? I'm glad I did. the book was amazing!

I loved the characters. Both of them have their problems, which makes them feel very relatable and human. The fact that they're so real also makes them more scary. Nick can be a jerk, but he really does care for his wife on some level. And Amy? Amy is absolutely brilliant. It took Nick and me (That's the proper grammar.) a while to figure things out, but once I did, I was very, very scared for Nick. Like I said, Amy is brilliant.

The plot was fast-paced with plenty of plot twists I didn't see coming. At first, it was kind of hard to get really into, but once I did, I couldn't put it down! The setting and characters were great, and the double POVs of Amy and Nick helped me get to know them as characters better without taking away from the plot. I'm thinking about reading more by Ms. Flynn. 5/5!
