After the events of Stormbreaker, Alex has returned to his normal life, going to school and hanging out with his friends. However, Alex is soon reluctantly roped into another dangerous case. A case only a teen boy can do. A series of strange, connected deaths have lead MI6 to Point Blanc, a finishing school for the problem children of the rich and famous. Alex will have to pose as a student to enter the school and determine what is going on. Upon is arrival, Alex is chilled by the way the former delinquents have become studious and mild-mannered, asting brainwashed and well-behaved literally overnight. Alex will have to get to the bottom of the sinister plot at the school before he is found out.

Alex is, slowly but surely, developing. He's impossibly brave and very resourceful. No idea, no escape route, is too insane or deadly for him to try it if need be. Jumping in front of trains? No problem. He also doesn't want to get caught up in MI6, but he wants to help people so much. I'm not just talking about the people his missions save, either. What about Jack, who would get deported if he didn't help the spies? He's looking out for her, too.

Like Stormbreaker, Point Blank is pretty short, which makes for an exciting, quick read. There's a ton of action, with vicious fighting scenes and high-speed chases over deadly terrain. Point Blanc is a perfect setting for a sinister school. It is very remote and the staff, including a secretive schoolmaster, are model villians. Like the series's first book, this sequel was very creative. Even though the plot moves pretty quickly, there's eough mystery and building suspense to keep the reader intertested and on their toes! 4/5 stars!
