Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight Saga #4)

I put this post off for over a year. I was just so reluctant to revisit one of the worst series I've ever read. I mean, I've read a lot of terrible books. There's a tag dedicated to them on this site. I've even read a few passages of Fifty Shades of Grey, and that was quite the ordeal. Even so, Twilight is a different cup of tea entirely. Sure, there are books like Hush, Hush, Embrace, Halo, etc. that are as bad as Twilight, if not worse. Twilight is the only series that has managed to be adapted into terrible, yet successful, movies and have some of the most terrifying fans out there other than Beliebers.

The official description for the book:
"To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs.
Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life-first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse-seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever?
The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions."

I can sum this book up in one sentence.
Bella gets pregnant and wants to turn into a vampire, but Jacob's not happy with it.
That's pretty much all that happens. For 754 pages. I mean, all of these books are long, but this is insane. City of Heavenly Fire only needed 725. The only thing that's remotely new about Breaking Dawn is the fact that there are double POVs, which isn't nearly as interesting as it usually is. Bella's her normal, clever, intelligent, 3D self, and Edward's even better. The book is spilt into three parts, and the middle section is just Jacob gripping some more about how much he cares about Bella and wants to set Edward on fire. And, let's face it, we all want to help him with the latter. There's no plot twists, no humor, no romance. At least it's so bad, it's funny. The best thing about the series are the memes people come up with for it.

After I finished IT, (I hearby refuse to call it a book.) I was a little stunned. Meyer just continues to amaze me. I was hoping to maybe get a laugh out of it, but, like with Halo, I was mostly just in pain. IT was terrible. Overall, the series is badly written with boring characters. It supports messgaes that shouldn't be taken seriously, like how having a boyfriend is the most important thing in the world. 1.5/5 stars.

One of the worst things about the series is how the covers are so perfect while the books are so perfectly hellish. By the way, if you also hate IT, you can join the Anti-Twilight Movement.
