Bobby Pendragon and his "uncle", Press, are off to the territory of Coral to stop whatever the evil Saint Dane has planned for the world. Things in the territory are off to a good start until a dangerous, unknown virus starts poisoning the food supply of the territory's people. In the race to discover a cure and reverse what damage has been done before things get any worse, the group also uncovers a legend about an underwater city called Faar that might be the key to the territory's survival.

One new character that I met in Coral is Spader, a traveler from the territory. Spader is upbeat and cheerful, always helping people relax with a laugh or a joke. He can be kind of a goofball and sometimes takes risks, but in the end, he knows what he's doing and can also be dead serious.

Coral was as interesting and creative as Denduron. It's covered entirely by water, and people live in giant floating cities. Everybody has to do their part to survive, growing food and helping to keep their homes in good condition.

There's not a ton to say about this book. There wasn't much character development, and the characters aren't very complex, come to think of it. There's not much moral conflict to make things interesting, and it can make the characters feel flat and a bit 2D. Nevertheless, I think that the series has a very creative idea and that it has a lot of potential to be very exciting. As a quick and entertaining read, it was fine. As a complicated and diverse world full of unique and 3D characters? Not so much. I enjoyed the book, but I do think it could be better if the characters developed. 3.5/5 stars.
